Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026
Plain-English summary

Attune is designed to be a low-data, high-trust app. It does not require you to create an account, log in, connect financial accounts, provide passwords, upload personal documents, or share health records.

Attune stores basic preferences locally on your device — things like which signal categories you selected, which signals you have reviewed, and notification settings. This data stays on your device and is not sent to Attune's servers or sold to anyone.

Attune does not currently use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or data brokers. If that changes, this policy will be updated and you will be notified where required.

Section 1

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Attune ("Attune," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Attune iOS app and website at useattuneapp.com.

Attune is a personal awareness layer for modern adult life. It surfaces quietly important life signals — overlooked risks, hidden financial leakage, forgotten responsibilities, unused benefits, privacy exposure, and recurring life admin — before they become expensive, stressful, exposed, or forgotten.

We built Attune to require as little personal information as possible. If you have questions, please contact us at AttuneAppSupport@gmail.com.

Section 2

What Attune does not require

The current version of Attune is designed to work without accessing sensitive personal accounts or data. Attune does not require, request, or support:

Account creation or user registration
Login credentials of any kind
Connection to bank accounts or financial institutions
Connection to insurance accounts or policy systems
Access to health records, medical systems, or health apps
Connection to email accounts or email content
Upload of personal documents, government IDs, or identity materials
Passwords, PINs, or account credentials for any external service
Social security numbers, tax IDs, or government identifiers
Payment card numbers or financial credentials

Attune surfaces educational signal content based on your selected preferences. It does not access, verify, or connect to any external account or data source on your behalf.

Section 3

Information stored locally on your device

Attune stores a small amount of data locally on your device using standard device storage (AsyncStorage). This data is stored on your device only and is not transmitted to Attune's servers. It includes:

Selected categories. The signal areas you chose during onboarding (for example, Financial, Security, Home). Used to show you relevant signals.
Reviewed signal history. A record of which signals you have marked as reviewed, and when. Used to avoid repeating the same signal and to display your Reviewed screen.
Deferred signal state. Whether you tapped "Not right now" on a signal and when, so Attune can respect the cooldown period before surfacing it again.
Feedback selections. Whether you marked a signal as helpful, not relevant, or not useful. Used to inform future signal quality improvements.
Notification preferences and status. Whether you have been shown the notification permission prompt, whether you accepted or declined, and metadata about any scheduled local notification.
Scheduled notification metadata. The ID of the next scheduled local notification and its intended delivery date. This is used by the device's local notification system only.
Last shown signal category. Used to avoid showing signals from the same category back-to-back.

Important distinction: "Stored locally on your device" means this information exists only on your phone. It is not uploaded to Attune servers, not synced across devices, and not shared with third parties. If you delete the app or reset your preferences, this data is removed.

Section 4

How locally stored information is used

Locally stored information is used solely to provide the core functions of the Attune app:

Personalization. Your selected categories determine which signals are surfaced. Attune uses your review history to avoid showing the same signal repeatedly and to sequence new signals appropriately.

Reviewed screen. Your review history is used to populate the Reviewed tab, which shows signals you have previously marked as reviewed.

Deferred state. If you tap "Not right now," Attune stores the deferral date and respects a cooldown period before potentially surfacing that signal again.

Notification scheduling. If you grant notification permission, Attune uses locally stored metadata to schedule and manage a small number of local notifications delivered by your device's operating system. No notification data is sent to or processed by Attune's servers.

Local data is not used for advertising, behavioral tracking, cross-app profiling, or any purpose beyond the in-app functions described above.

Section 5

Notifications

Attune uses local notifications — notifications scheduled and delivered by your device's operating system — to occasionally surface a signal when it may be worth your attention.

Permission. Attune requests notification permission only after you have reviewed your first signal in the app. It does not request permission on launch or during onboarding. If you decline, Attune will not request permission again.

Cadence. Attune is designed to send a small number of notifications — not daily reminders, streaks, or generic alerts. The default cadence is one notification approximately every one to two weeks, at 10am local time.

Local only. Attune's current notifications are local notifications only. They are not server-sent push notifications and do not involve transmitting your data to a notification server. The notification content is generated locally on your device from the bundled signal library.

Managing notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device Settings. You can also reset all Attune preferences — including notification state — from the Settings screen within the app.

The Attune app currently uses Expo Notifications for local notification scheduling. This library operates on-device. If server-sent push notifications are added in a future version, this policy will be updated accordingly.

Section 6

External links

Attune signal content may include references to or links to external websites, government resources, or official guidance pages. These links are provided as educational references only.

When you follow an external link, you leave the Attune app. Attune is not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

Section 7

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Analytics. The current version of Attune does not use third-party analytics services (such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase Analytics, or similar) within the app. If analytics are added in a future version, this policy will be updated and relevant App Store privacy disclosures will be revised.

Advertising. Attune does not display advertising. It does not use advertising SDKs, advertising identifiers (IDFA), or third-party ad networks.

Tracking. Attune does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. It does not use data collected in the app for targeting advertising in other apps.

Crash reporting. The current version does not use a third-party crash reporting service. If a crash reporting SDK is added in a future version, this policy will be updated.

Section 8

Data sharing and sale of data

Attune does not sell your data. Attune does not share your data with data brokers, advertising networks, or third-party marketing platforms.

Because Attune currently stores all user preference data locally on your device and does not transmit it to Attune's servers, there is no user data in Attune's possession to sell or share.

If Attune ever introduces account-based features, backend sync, analytics, or data sharing arrangements, this policy will be updated clearly and in advance.

Section 9

Children's privacy

Attune is designed for adults. The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used Attune in a way that has resulted in personal information being submitted to us, please contact us at AttuneAppSupport@gmail.com.

Section 10

Data retention and resetting preferences

Because Attune stores preferences locally on your device, you are in direct control of that data.

Resetting preferences. You can reset all locally stored Attune data at any time by tapping "Reset preferences" in the app's Settings screen. This clears all selected categories, reviewed signal history, deferred state, feedback, notification state, and scheduled notification metadata from your device.

Deleting the app. Uninstalling Attune from your device will remove locally stored app data in accordance with standard iOS app removal behavior.

Attune does not maintain server-side records of your individual app preferences or reviewed history in the current version. There is no account to delete.

Section 11

Future changes to this policy

Attune is an early-stage product. Future versions may introduce features that change our data practices — such as user accounts, backend sync, personalization services, push notifications via server, analytics, referral programs, or in-app purchases.

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes that affect how personal data is collected or used, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the app or website before the changes take effect.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
